2023 Call for Nominations

The SAIS Board of Trustees is responsible for the supervision, control, and direction of the association. The nominations process takes place each spring.

The 2023 call for nominations is open through June 30, 2022.

• To nominate someone, submit this nomination form by June 30.
• To self-nominate, complete this bio form by June 30.

Term of Office

• The trustee term, which begins on January 1 of the year following election, is three years.
• For this cycle, the term of service is 1/1/2023-12/31/2025.
• A trustee may, during tenure or at the time of rotating off the board, be elected to a position as an officer. Officers are exempt from the regular board rotation.

Board Meetings

• The board meets four times a year.
• Trustees are expected to participate in all meetings.
• The meeting dates for 2023 are:
  • In-person: April 24-26 and Sept 5-7 (locations TBD)
  • Virtual: June 8 and Dec 5 (from 3-5 PM Eastern)

Nominations Process

• You may nominate yourself or someone else for board service.
• The governance committee reviews the nominees and recommends a slate to the full board. 
• The board-approved slate will be announced no later than Sept 19 and presented for election by the membership at the 2022 SAIS Annual Business Meeting, which will take place via Zoom at 4 PM Eastern on Oct 19.
• New trustees begin their terms on January 1 of the following year.
