This session will describe a process that several thousand schools worldwide have used to build consensus and powerful collaboration around the topics of effective teacher evaluation/growth, salary system design, and benefits development and analysis. What makes this process unique is the engagement of board members, faculty, and administrators. Such a process now, at a time when teachers feel exhausted and sometimes undervalued and overworked, can rebuild faculty (and staff) morale and make all feel more appreciated, needed, and honored.
The session will be led by John Littleford, senior partner of Littleford & Associates, and Cliff Kling, president of Gulliver Preparatory School. John Littleford and Cliff Kling worked together on a six-month project for the faculty in a process that included 60 board members, administration, teachers and staff in a collaborative effort that has clear guard rails and delivered powerful outcomes. John Littleford and Cliff Kling will explain the goals for Gulliver and how the process was launched and will discuss progress and feedback from the original goals.
