Hiring the best candidate is the ultimate goal of the hiring process. It provides an opportunity for a school to learn if the candidate is the right fit for the school, and for the candidate to evaluate if the school is the right fit for the candidate. A well-devised hiring process also allows a school to screen out undesirable candidates such as ones with a prior criminal history, fraudulent application information, or poor work record which would evidence that the candidate may be dangerous or otherwise an inappropriate fit for a private school setting. The hiring process is often also an employee’s first experience to begin to learn about a school’s mission and culture; an important factor to help establish a mutually satisfying employment relationship.
This program will help heads of schools, deans, human resource professionals, and others involved in the hiring process to understand, develop, and adopt policies and procedures that help to ensure a legally compliant and effective hiring process.
