In this webinar, participants will be lead through a conversation on the future of education and the newly needed human side of educational leadership. The world has changed and schools are needing to respond and change also. In order for schools to change, they need an effective – and different – form of school leadership. The previously effective school leader – one that focused attention on instruction, accountability, and annual planning – is not necessarily as effective when confronting the new changing needs of our time. What is required now is a leader who can adjust, be nimble, make decisions, trial and test out those decisions as experiments, admit uncertainty, bring others into the issue(s), network, share thinking, and be open to ideas, feedback, and failure. It is becoming less a role backed by managerial skills and more a role based on human connection and innovation. It is time to focus on our human side. Empathy, understanding, and trust are the new and needed drivers of educational effectiveness.
