POSITION PURPOSE: To provide innovative and missionally aligned leadership for comprehensive institutional advancement.


SUPERVISES: Enrollment Team, Development Team, Communications, Public Relations/Marketing, Camps & After School Programs

DIRECT REPORT: Head of School


Overall Leadership:

  • Works as a part of an integrated executive leadership team to strategize and position the organization for the future
  • Serves as the primary advisor to the Head of School (HOS) and executive team on matters related to advancement priorities and initiatives
  • Continually develops the advancement staff to ensure team and organizational goals are being met
  • Directs and manages CPA’s advancement strategies in the areas of enrollment, development, communications, marketing, and public relations
  • Promotes CPA at major events such as prospective parent group tours, fundraising and community engagement events.
  • Communicates effectively with the internal and external constituents to keep them informed of any key events or information


  • Collaborates with Head of School to creates and drive strategy on all aspects of giving (annual, capital and planned)
  • Oversees the Office of Development efforts in donor cultivation, fundraising efforts for all avenues of the Academy, and all areas of alumni relationship and giving cultivation
  • In alignment with strategic initiatives, ensures execution of comprehensive fundraising plan
  • Partner with the Director of Development to cultivate a portfolio of major donors and prospects and develop a systematic approach to cultivate large gifts

Communications, Marketing, Public Relations:

  • Oversees the Office of Communications to assist in strengthening CPA’s branding, market penetration, social media relevance and presence, and parent/Academy communication efforts
  • Ensures communication and marketing efforts are representative of CPA’s culture, voice, and aligns strategies in this area with the goals of the organization
  • Ensures all communication needs of the organization are met with internal and external constituent groups, and constantly evaluates communication methods and practices


  • Partners with the Director of Enrollment to ensure CPA’s enrollment strategies are aligned with the strategic plan and Academy goals
  • Oversees the Office of Enrollment which includes all aspects of the Enrollment Office from parent inquiry to a new student starting at CPA

Summer Camps & Programs:

  • Oversee summer camps and after school programs
  • Ensure the overall program is self-sustaining and the outreach goals of the program are being met




  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred


  • A minimum of 7 years in a school administration position preferred, executive corporate experience will be considered
  • Communication, development, or enrollment/admissions office experience highly valued
  • Experience leading a team of people required
  • Personal track record of reaching and exceeding fundraising goals

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to cultivate relationships across campus, particularly with the donor base
  • Exceptional leadership skills at the strategic and operational level
  • The ability to handle competing priorities effectively
  • Ability to work well across varying demographic groups and constituencies
  • Ability to think and plan strategically and also ensure the plans are executed
