The Director oversees a Middle School comprised of 200 students in grades 5–8 and is a member of the school’s senior administrative team (The Leadership Team) and reports directly to the Head of School.

As the school completes its 5-year strategic plan, the next Middle School Director will be instrumental in serving as a collaborative voice in shaping the next cycle of strategic growth. Strong candidates will be proven middle school educators and advocates for progressive education, will clearly know and articulate project based learning, and will have a background in design-thinking.

As a member of the Duke School’s Leadership Team, the Middle School Director will be a proven leader and a strong relationship builder, skilled in forming authentic and empathetic relationships across and within diverse communities. This is a tremendous opportunity for a leader who finds true joy and delight in working with middle school students. Duke School welcomes a visionary who is ready to take on a leadership role at a school where: children are eager to understand the world around them and master new skills, teachers are enthusiastic and know and value every student, parents are engaged and share educational goals and want to participate, and a community that values healthy relationships and personal integrity.
