St. Andrew’s Episcopal School seeks a Senior Director of Admission to oversee the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students across all ages/grade levels and direct the financial aid program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the entire admission, enrollment, and financial aid program.

  • Collaborate with the Office of Institutional Advancement and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan that increases inquiries and applications from qualified applicants.

  • Meet with potential families to articulate the school’s mission, culture, programs, and value-added proposition, and apprise their willingness and commitment to partner effectively with the school.

  • Oversee all aspects of the admission process, including communications, testing, visits, tours, and admission committees.

  • Develop and manage mission-appropriate financial aid and merit-based scholarship programs.

  • Maintain statistical reports on all aspects of enrollment trends, market demand, and demographic analysis, and report on such matters to school constituencies as appropriate.

  • Oversee all aspects of retention.

  • Oversee special events related to recruitment and retention.

  • Manage all parent and student admission volunteer support including the Parent Admission Ambassador Team.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Global Studies to support and expand international student enrollment.

  • Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and provide strategic direction for admission and financial aid staff.

  • Evaluate continually and redesign where appropriate all aspects of the admission and financial aid programs with the goal of maintaining capacity enrollment of qualified students.

  • Develop and manage the admission budget.

  • Serve on the school’s Senior Leadership Team.

  • Stay current on trends in independent school admission, financial aid, and retention, including economic and demographic shifts that could impact admission and enrollment.

  • Take an active role in professional activities, and attend relevant professional meetings and conferences, including the annual Enrollment Management Association meeting.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional school environment.  This role must hold a valid driver’s license to be able to drive between two campuses.  Physical demands include being able to provide walking tours of campuses and lift 20 lbs. of recruitment materials.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time, twelve-month position.  Limited travel and occasional weekend and evening work will be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree preferred.

  • A minimum of five years of experience with effective admission and recruitment models in a school environment preferred.

  • Represent the school in the larger community in a positive manner that reflects the values of the school.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective, professional relationships with students, faculty, administrators, parents, alumni, and guests.

  • High degree of cultural competency and demonstrated success in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex projects.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite preferred.

  • Experience with relational databases required.  Experience with School Admin and Blackbaud preferred.
