SAIS is pleased to introduce four new members joining its board of trustees. Coming from diverse member schools across various geographic locations, the new board members bring years of experience to guide, oversee, and direct the association. The SAIS board includes members from eight states with school sizes ranging from just over 200 students to more than 2500 students. This diverse group includes members from co-ed and single sex schools, both boarding and day schools, located in urban, suburban, and rural areas. Additionally, the board includes representatives from secular and religiously affiliated schools, as well as those serving special populations.

The latest additions to the board are

  • Chuck Baldecchi, head of school, Charlotte Latin School – NC
  • Toni Boyd, vice president for finance & operations, The Westminster Schools – GA
  • McKenzie Cohen, head of school, The Collegiate School of Memphis – TN
  • Cecil Stodghill, head of school, The Altamont School – AL

These four individuals join existing board members Leigh Ann Ballou, Lamar School – MS, Nancy Foy, New Community School – VA, Adam Greene, Episcopal School of Jacksonville – FL, Stuart Gulley, Woodward Academy – GA, Doreen Kelley, Ravenscroft School – NC, Will Kesler, Battle Ground Academy – TN, Doug Norry, Triangle Day School – NC, Kelly Waldron, St. Andrew’s School – GA, and Randy Watts, Brookwood School – GA.

Board officers serving through 2026 are Chair DuBose Egleston, Porter-Gaud School – SC, Vice Chair Autumn Graves, St. Anne’s-Belfield School – VA, Treasurer Albert Throckmorton, St. Mary’s Episcopal School – TN, Secretary Kavita Vasil, Highlands School – AL, and Immediate Past Chair Jackie Westerfield, Grandview Preparatory School – FL.

Chuck Baldecchi has served as the head of school for Charlotte Latin School since 2019 with previous experience in both K-8 and boarding school settings. Chuck’s board experience includes the INDEX Group, Elementary School Heads Association, and the Country Day School Headmasters Association. Charlotte Latin is a PK-12 school in Charlotte, NC with an enrollment of 1500.

Toni Boyd joined Westminster Schools as vice president for finance and operations in 2017, having previously served in a similar position at Athens Academy for 17 years. Toni is a United States Marine Corps veteran and holds a Master of Accountancy from the University of Georgia. Westminster enrolls more than 1800 Atlanta area students in grades PK-12.

McKenzie Cohen began her service at The Collegiate School of Memphis in 2010 as the director of academic achievement and was later named principal and dean of academics before becoming the head of school in 2014. The Collegiate School of Memphis in Tennessee serves 360 students in grades 6 through 12.

Cecil Stodghill joined the Altamont School in 2022, bringing independent school experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator serving SAIS schools Providence Day, Berkeley Preparatory School, and the McCallie School, his alma mater. Altamont enrolls 385 students in grades 5 through 12 in Birmingham, AL.
