How does the Net Promoter Score Survey work?

The Net Promoter Score (NPS) is built on a single core question:
How likely are you to recommend this school?

Responses on a 0-10 scale place each respondent into one of three groups: Detractors, Passives, and Promoters. The score is the gap between your advocates and your critics.

Detractors 0-6

Indicates dissatisfaction, may discourage others

Passives 7-8

Indicates satisfaction but not enthusiastic

Promoters 9-10

Loyal advocates

NPS score is calculated by subtracting the detractors from the promoters.
% Promoters – % Detractors = a score ranging from -100 to +100

Survey Questions Tailored for Each Stakeholder Group

Every group receives the core NPS question adapted to their relationship with the school, plus open-response prompts designed to surface specific, actionable feedback.
